Club meetings

The club meets on Tuesday evenings from 19:30 to about 21:00 at the Glenmore Centre, Thorpe Rd, Shepshed, Loughborough LE12 9LU (unless indicated otherwise).

Mills on the Air 2025

On Sunday 11th May 2025, the club took part in Mills on the Air. This annual event is intended to bring together amateur radio operators and clubs to promote the hobby, whilst helping preserve some of the wonderful heritage of our Windmills and Watermills.

LADARC club members operated a Special Event amateur radio station with the callsign GB5HM at Hough Mill in Swannington.
The weather was beautiful and propagation conditions were favourable, so we made many contacts on 40 m and 2 m with stations in the Shetland Islands, Scotland, Devon, London, Norwich, Derby, Germany and the Netherlands.
Some of the visitors to the mill showed an interest in our station and we explained to them what amateur radio is about.
